Brunswick Tram Depot Upgrade

The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) and Yarra Trams are upgrading the Brunswick Tram Depot to support the addition of larger trams to the fleet, additional trams in the depot and provide improved accessibility and safety.

Brunswick Tram Depot administration building upgrade and refurbishment

As part of the upgrade project, the installation of the temporary facilities for the operations and administration of the depot, located in the old staff car park, will soon be complete.

Operations and administration of the depot will be run from these temporary facilities while we undertake works to upgrade and refurbish the existing depot building.

Works to demolish part of the existing administration building will commence February 2025. The external white facade facing Sydney Road will be retained. We will continue to provide community updates on these upcoming works.

When?

– Ongoing 7am to 4pm, February 2025 (Monday to Friday only).
– Works to install foundations and service connections for the new administration building will commence after the demolition.

New Brunswick Tram Depot car park complete

Construction of the new car park under the elevated rail line is now complete and in use by depot staff.
