Charter a tram

Our primary purpose is to provide a public transportation service for residents of and visitors to Melbourne. However, we understand that Melbourne's trams are iconic, and are a popular option for many to consider for private or commercial use.

Where it can be done with minimal risk of impact to the provision of public transport services, we can consider applications to charter a tram, but these require special permission from the Department of Transport and Planning, and there is no guarantee that a charter will be approved.

If you are interested in chartering one of Melbourne’s iconic trams, we need a minimum of four weeks’ notice to review and approve successful tram charter applications.
