Reason for service changes
We’re delivering vital maintenance works near the intersection of Victoria and Elizabeth Streets to continue delivering safe and reliable tram services.
Tram service changes
Monday 6 October, 7pm to last tram and Sunday 26 October, 2pm to last tram
- Route 19 trams run between North Coburg and Stop 19 Brunswick Rd.
Buses replace trams on Route 19 between Stop 19 Brunswick Rd and Stop 9 Haymarket. - Route 57 trams run between West Maribyrnong and Stop 20 Melrose St.
Buses replace trams on Route 57 between Stop 20 Melrose St and Stop 9 Howard St.
7pm Monday 6 October to last tram Sunday 26 October
- Route 59 trams run between Airport West and Stop 116 City Rd, diverting along Peel and William streets along Route 58.
First tram Tuesday 7 October to 2pm Sunday 26 October
- Route 19 trams run between North Coburg and Stop 9 Haymarket.
- Route 57 trams run between West Maribyrnong and Stop 9 Howard St.
Tram stop changes
The following tram stops are closed during the works:
- Stop 1 Flinders Street Station, Elizabeth Street
- Stop 2 Collins Street, Elizabeth Street
- Stop 3 Bourke Street Mall, Elizabeth Street
- Stop 5 Melbourne Central Station, Elizabeth Street
- Stop 7 Queen Victoria Market, Elizabeth Street
- Stop 8 Peel Street, Victoria Street
Footpaths will remain open around the works area. There may be temporary footpath and crossing closures. Please follow the signage around the works area.
Alternative travel options
- Up 15 min around the work zone. Refer to signage in the area.
- Trams on Route 58 and Route 59a along Peel Street and William Street.
- Swanston Street trams between Melbourne University and Flinders Street Station.
- City Loop, Craigieburn, Upfield line trains for Elizabeth Street.
- Bus 220 along Queen Street.
- Route 19 Night Network bus between Stop 9 Haymarket and Flinders Street Station.
