Extra trams

We’re running extra trams for the below events during August and September. While trams run to their normal frequency, times may differ due to traffic congestion around event venues. 

Allow extra time and plan your journey at transport.vic.gov.au

MCG 

  • Saturday 15 August at 12.35pm - AFL Rd 23, Richmond v St Kilda.

  • Saturday 15 August at 7.40pm - AFL Rd 23, Hawthorn v Collingwood.

  • Sunday 16 August at 4.40pm - AFL Rd 23, Essendon v Sydney Swans.

  • Friday 21 August at 7.40pm - AFL Rd 24, Collingwood v Brisbane Lions.

  • Saturday 22 August at 4.15pm - AFL Rd 24, Melbourne v Western Bulldogs.

  • Friday 11 September at 10.35am - NFL Los Angeles Rams v San Francisco 49ers.

  • Saturday 26 September at 2.30pm - AFL Grand Final. 

Extra tram services run as Route 70a between Flinders Street and Stop 7C MCG Gates 4-7/John Cain Arena or as
Route 75a between Flinders Street and Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG.

Passengers at Southern Cross Station can reach Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG by using Route 48 trams along Collins Street.

Extra trams running along Flinders Street to the above events will be accessible low-floor trams, depending on availability.

Marvel Stadium 

  • Saturday 15 August at 3.45pm - AFL Rd 23, North Melbourne v Geelong. 

  • Sunday 16 August at 3.15pm - AFL Rd 23, Western Bulldogs v Carlton.

  • Thursday 20 August at 7.30pm - AFL Rd 24, St Kilda v Gold Coast Suns.

  • Saturday 22 August at 1.15pm - AFL Rd 24, Carlton v Fremantle Dockers.

  • Sunday 23 August at 12.20pm - AFL Rd 24, Essendon v Port Adelaide. 

  • Thursday 27 August at 7.30pm - Four N' Twenty Legends Game.

  • Thursday 24 September at 6pm - Concert, Dom Dolla. 

Extra tram services run as Route 86a between Stop 10 Parliament Station and Stop D1 Docklands Stadium via Bourke Street or Route 30a between Stop D1 Docklands Stadium and Stop 10 Parliament Station via La Trobe Street.

Extra trams running to the above events will be accessible low-floor trams, depending on availability.

AAMI Park / John Cain Arena 

  • Saturday 15 August at 7pm - Rodeo, PBR Australia Monster Energy Tour.

  • Thursday 20 August at 8pm - NRL Rd 25, Melbourne Storm v Penrith Panthers.

  • Saturday 29 August at 1pm and 6.30pm - Concert, 2026 Victoria State Schools Spectacular. 

  • Saturday 19 September at 7.30pm - NBL Basketball Rd 1, Melbourne United v Adelaide 36ers.

  • Tuesday 22 September at 7pm - Concert, MAMAMOO.

  • Thursday 24 September at 7.30pm - NBL Basketball Rd 2, S.E. Melbourne Phoenix v Melbourne United. 

  • Friday 25 September at 6pm - Concert, Shinedown and Bush. 

  • Wednesday 30 September and Thursday 1 October at 6.30pm daily - Concert, Lord of the rings: Fellowship of the ring.
