Service changes and extra trams for special events and cruise ships

We’re running extra trams for the below events during January and February. While trams run to their normal frequency, times may differ due to traffic congestion around event venues.

MCG 

• Sunday 8 March at 7.20pm - AFL opening round, St Kilda v Collingwood. 

Extra tram services run as Route 70a between Flinders Street and Stop 7C MCG Gates 4-7/John Cain Arena or as
Route 75a between Flinders Street and Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG.

Passengers at Southern Cross Station can reach Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG by using Route 48 trams along Collins Street.

Extra trams running along Flinders Street to the above events will be accessible low-floor trams, depending on availability.

Marvel Stadium 

• Thursday 26 February, Friday 27 February and Saturday 28 February at 6pm daily - Concert, Ed Sheeran.

Extra tram services run as Route 86a between Stop 10 Parliament Station and Stop D1 Docklands Stadium via Bourke Street or Route 30a between Stop D1 Docklands Stadium and Stop 10 Parliament Station via La Trobe Street.

Extra trams running to the above events will be accessible low-floor trams, depending on availability.

AAMI Park / John Cain Arena 

• Monday 26 January at 5.30pm - A-League Football, Melbourne Victory v Sydney FC.
• Saturday 7 February at 8pm - NBL basketball, Melbourne United v Adelaide 36ers.
• Sunday 8 February at 2.30pm - NBL Basketball, SE Melbourne Phoenix v Sydney Kings.
• Wednesday 11 February at 7.30pm - International netball, Australian Diamonds v Jamaica.
• Saturday 14 February at 5pm - A-League Football, Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar.
• Saturday 14 February at 8pm - NBL Basketball, SE Melbourne Phoenix v Tasmania Jackjumpers.
• Sunday 15 February at 2.30pm - NBL basketball, Melbourne United v Illawara Hawks.
• Thursday 19 February at 7.30pm - NBL basketball, Melbourne United v SE Melbourne Phoenix.

• Wednesday 25 February at 7pm - Concert, Jason Aldean.

• Saturday 21 February and Sunday 22 February at 9am daily - Victorian Caravan Camping Supershow.

Extra tram services run as Route 57a between Flinders Street Station and Stop 40 Epsom Rd.

Footscray Park 

• Saturday 24 January at 3pm - Concert, Dangerous Goods 6XXL Music Festival.

Extra tram services run as Route 82a between Footscray Station and Stop 48 Wests Road/Raleigh Road.

Cruise ships

Cruise ships are docking at Port Melbourne. 

We are running additional Route 109 trams between Port Melbourne and the city on weekends when cruise ships are scheduled to arrive at Beacon Cove.

On weekdays when a ship is docked it is likely there will be higher than usual demand, especially around peak times. It is recommended you allow extra time and plan your journey at transport.vic.gov.au
