Plenty Road renewal works
Saturday 29 May to Sunday 6 June 2021
Date and time
Saturday 29 May from 2.30am to last tram Sunday 6 June.
Reason for service changes
We’re renewing tram tracks and overhead wires along Plenty Road between Miller Street and Bell Street.
For more information about local area impacts visit our Projects page.
- Route 86 trams run a shortened service, with buses replacing trams between Stop 42 Miller Street and Bundoora RMIT
- Replacement buses will divert around the work zone and will use temporary stops close to tram stops.
Tram stop changes
The following tram stops will be closed for the duration of the works:
- Stop 42 Dundas Street
- Stop 43 Raglan Street
- Stop 44 Osborne Grove
- Stop 45 Bell Street
Tram replacement buses will pick up passengers from temporary bus stops located along High Street (travelling towards Docklands) or Hotham Street (travelling towards Bundoora RMIT).
The following stops will also be closed and will not be serviced by the replacement buses:
- Stop 66 Settlement Road - connect with tram replacement buses at either Stop 65 Grimshaw Street or Stop 67 Bundoora Square Shopping Centre.
- Stop 70 Janefield Drive - connect with tram replacement buses at the temporary bus stop located near Stop 71 Bundoora RMIT.
The work zone will be fenced off for safety but footpaths will remain open around the work area. Please refer to signage around the work zone area to find the nearest replacement bus stop or pedestrian crossing.
Stop 32 Mitchell Street will be the last accessible stop for passengers travelling towards Bundoora RMIT.
Replacement buses are low floor depending on availability. If you need assistance, speak to our customer service team or alert your driver.
Trams and bus replacements run to their normal frequency during the works, however, they may not arrive at the scheduled time due to congestion around the work zone.
Plan ahead, allow extra time for your journey and wear a face mask while travelling.
