What's happening?
We’re renewing tram tracks on Bourke and Spencer streets near Southern Cross Station. During this time the Bourke and Spencer Street intersection will be closed.
First tram Monday 16 February to last tram Wednesday 25 February
- Route 86 trams run between Bundoora RMIT and Stop 4 Queen St on Bourke Street.
- No Route 86 trams run in Spencer Street or Docklands. - Route 96 trams run between:
- East Brunswick and Stop 4 Queen St on Bourke Street
- Stop 124 Batman Park on Spencer Street and St Kilda Beach - Route 30 trams run between Stop 12 St Vincent’s Plaza and Waterfront City Docklands.
Friday 20 February and Saturday 21 February
- Route 75 trams run to Waterfront City Docklands during Night Network.
Your travel options
To Waterfront City Docklands
- Trams along Elizabeth, Swanston and William streets, then change for Route 30 in La Trobe Street.
- Route 86 passengers may walk 200m / 3 min between Stop 11 Melbourne Museum and Stop 10 Nicholson St in Victoria Parade to connect with Route 30 trams.
To St Kilda Beach
- Route 12 or 109 trams in Collins Street and change at Stop 124 Batman Park.
- Walk up to 18 min around the work zone along Bourke and Spencer streets between Stop 4 Queen St and Stop 124 Batman Park.
To Bundoora RMIT / East Brunswick
- Trams along Elizabeth, Collins and Swanston streets and change at Bourke Street.
- Walk up to 18 min around the work zone along Bourke and Spencer streets between Stop 124 Batman Park and Stop 4 Queen St.

The following stops will be closed during the works:
- Stop 3 William St in Bourke Street
- Stop 1 Southern Cross Station in Bourke Street
- Stop 122 Southern Cross Station in Spencer Street
- Stop 119 La Trobe St in Spencer Street
- Stop 120 Lonsdale St in Spencer Street
Accessibility
Travellers Aid is running the new Yarra Trams My Tramsfer accessible minibus to assist passengers with disability and accessibility needs between Stop 4 Queen Street and Stop 124 Batman Park.
When does the service operate?
Monday 16 February to Wednesday 25 February, 6am and 9pm each day.
How long will the journey take?
A one-way journey may take up to 20 minutes, subject to traffic conditions around the work zone.
