Yarra Trams visits the Victorian Pride Centre
18 Jan 2023
Yesterday our Executive Team joined members of the Yarra Trams Pride Alliance for a tour of the Victorian Pride Centre (VPC) and the JOY Media studios.
An incredible and striking building that opened in mid-2021, the VPC is the first purpose-built centre for Australia's LGBTIQ+ communities and is home to 16 major LGBTIQ+ resident organisations. The Centre also serves as a hub for LGBTIQ+ groups and organisations to share ideas and resources and to further their work in supporting equality, diversity and inclusion across the state.
We’re proud to be partners of JOY and Midsumma Festival, including delivering our recent #AllAboard Pride Tram design competition, a visible commitment to Keolis Downer’s goal of a safe and inclusive tram network where everyone is welcome aboard. The #AllAboard tram will once again be joining the Midsumma Pride March down Fitzroy Street on February 5th as a highlight of the event.
The VPC is open for visitors seven days a week, and you can book a free tour via their website. It’s easy to get to the VPC on the tram as well, with routes 3a, 12, 16, and 96 all stopping nearby.
