Spring Fling 2013

Festival goers travelling to North Melbourne's Spring Fling this year will enjoy the comfort and convenience of being dropped right on its doorstep.

Unlike previous years Yarra Trams are continuing normal services along Errol Street for the entire event.

We're pleased to be part of a collaborative initiative to maintain regular tram services during festival road closure as it will showcase the potential of providing similar services at community events across Melbourne.

The move comes after extensive consultation with festival organisers and the City of Melbourne and reinforces Yarra Trams commitment to passenger satisfaction and service delivery. Tram services running through the festival will benefit not only passengers wishing to join in the fun, but for other passengers using Route 57 beyond the festival.

While street access will be closed to motor vehicles, Yarra Trams has developed and invested in a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure Spring Fling patrons are not disrupted by trams continuing through the festival and passengers are able to alight trams safely. It will also ensure that customers not attending the festival receive a reliable service with minimum disruption to their journey.

In previous years Route 57 trams diverted around Spring Fling, with a replacement bus travelling through North Melbourne. Yarra Trams is delighted to be working with the Spring Fling Festival on this initiative and looks forward to providing all passengers with a convenient, safe and reliable service.
