Yarra Trams supports Sacred Heart Mission Dine with Heart Month
Thursday 12 May 2016
Yarra Trams is proud to support the Sacred Heart Mission Dine with Heart Month again in 2016. Melbourne is a great city to enjoy sensational food, this month you can dine out and raise funds for the Sacred Heart Mission Meals Program at the same time.
Dine with Heart Month is a charity fundraising month supported by restaurants, cafes and bars across the City of Port Phillip and Melbourne CBD. By dining out supporters can combine good food with support for a great cause. Together these restaurants are raising funds for Sacred Heart Mission's Meals Program which serves 400 free, nutritious meals every day of the year from its St Kilda dining hall to people in need. Every $4 raised will pay for a healthy meal for someone who otherwise couldn't afford it, with the goal being to raise $150,000 to keep the Mission's Meals Program running.
More than 60 venues across St Kilda, the city of Port Phillip and Melbourne's CBD will work together to raise funds to help those in need - some will create unique fundraising events in-house; others will encourage customers to add a small donation to their final bill; whilst others will create signature dishes especially for Dine with Heart Month.
It's a great way to have fun and do good whilst you are dining out in May #dinewithheart

Chris Watson, head chef and owner of Luxembourg, said supporting Dine with Heart month is a no-brainer."On a local scale it's a great way for people to give back. The Mission is an amazing part of our community, and a huge part of St Kilda, and being here and doing this you actually get to see the impact of what you're putting in."
