Yarra Trams donates to 300 Blankets

Last week members of our passenger experience and lost property teams met up with Brad from 300 Blankets and present the charity with a check for $2,500.

300 Blankets is a Melbourne-based charity focused on supporting the homeless, and this donation will go towards supporting the purchase of material aid (socks, underwear, clothing, blankets and toiletries) which the charity distributes through its Outreach Program to people sleeping rough on the streets of Melbourne.

This donation was collected over the last few months from unclaimed money left on our trams - ranging from 10 cent coins to $50 notes. As with anything else left on our trams, the money was held at our office for 2 months without being collected, so we’re delighted the money will be going to a good cause.
