Sisterworks tram enters network

01 Feb 2023

We’re incredibly proud to welcome this stunning SisterWorks Inc. tram onto the network as our second Community Partner for 2023.

The SisterWorks tram wrap promotes their “Hire Her” campaign, highlighting its mission to enable migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking to have the opportunity to be confident, independent and learn new social and vocational skills to improve their economic outlook. More broadly SisterWorks provides training and coaching, on-the-job experience, and professional support to ensure that vulnerable women from migrant, refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds have the best advantages to become gainfully employed.

Members of Yarra Trams’ Corporate Affairs team met representatives from SisterWorks at our Kew Depot to celebrate the tram entering the network as well as kick off festivities for SisterWorks’ 10th anniversary of helping women across Victoria. Over the last decade SisterWorks has helped more than 2000 women hailing from 105 countries.

The theme for Yarra Trams’ Community Partnerships Program 2023 is ‘Building a Resilient and Sustainable Melbourne’, with participants supporting Victoria’s natural environment, as well as organisations working to improve employment security of disadvantaged and at-risk communities.
