Message from our COO: Keeping our network safe

24 Mar 2020

As we all come to terms with the growing challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic, our priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and people.

With this in mind, and based on the latest advice from relevant authorities, I wanted to share some of the measures we have put in place.

All trams are now getting deep cleaned every night.

We are currently installing plastic film to cover passenger/driver speaking locations in the driver’s cabin door.

All sites now have social distancing measures in place based on guidelines that we have implemented, these include.

  • CSEs being advised to keep a socially acceptable distance from people that they are dealing with on platforms.
  • And Authorised Officer's being encouraged to only check myki’s if it is safe to do so.

We are also cleaning our shared vehicles, including recovery trucks, and we have locked down the Unified Operations Centre and created seclusion zones around our operational teams.

We will continue to do whatever we can, to work together to get through this.

Stay safe everyone and take care.
