Keeping Melbourne's Tram fleet reliable

Working in partnership with Downer Group we recently refurbished our 250th tram as part of the $230 million Rolling Stock Additional Works (RSAW) program - the largest project of its kind in the world.

The 250th tram, B-class tram 2108, was completely stripped back and rebuilt from the ground up after travelling more than 1.7 million kilometres since it was built in 1993 (the equivalent of 2.5 trips to the moon and back!). Over the course of the project approximately 85% of our fleet will be fully refurbished to provide a cleaner, more comfortable, and more reliable service to our passengers.

We're incredibly proud of this project and can't wait to see these iconic workhorses of our network keep Melburnians moving for years to come.
