Footy finals fever hits Melbourne's trams

September in Melbourne means footy finals and Yarra Trams is getting into the spirit of the season.

We have teamed up with the AFL to support Melbourne's contenders by adding team colours to selected trams.

As well as being draped in team scarf decals, the trams feature a club specific message at each end.

The Collingwood and Western Bulldogs team trams were used on the footy special services on Saturday night, ferrying thousands of supporters to the MCG.

Despite the heavy rain and umbrella shredding winds, the fans were thrilled to catch a tram displaying the colours of their much loved club.

The footy trams are servicing routes that run through the traditional suburban heartland of each team.

With the footy trams running throughout the finals series, look out for your club's tram on your local route.

Yarra Trams is supporting all finals games at the MCG by providing shuttle services and extra trams to get fans to and from the ground.
