Flemington Road track repair and signal points
Friday 27 April 2018
As part of the modernisation of Melbourne's tram network, Yarra Trams and Public Transport Victoria are repairing tram tracks in Parkville at Flemington Road between Eliott Avenue and Gatehouse Street. New automatic signal points will also be installed at the Elliott Avenue intersection.
The tracks in the work zone are over 50 years old and areas need to be repaired. The repairs will increase service reliability, safety and ride comfort for passengers. This signal upgrade will improve operational efficiency and reduce the chance of derailments.
