Enhanced tram cleaning measures to keep people safe

As Victorians are doing their part to help flatten the curve, there are many who rely on our trams to get to work or to travel for essential supplies.
We are pleased to announce that the Department of Transport (DoT) has decided that all trams will undergo a deep clean every night from today, Thursday, 19 March.
This deep clean has been increased from a fortnightly frequency and includes the wiping down high touch areas including buttons, handles, straps, stanchions in both the passenger saloon and driver's cabin.
This will be in addition to current daily cleaning tasks including the removal of litter, graffiti, unauthorised stickers, stains, vacuuming and mopping of floors.
We will continue to monitor and review the situation as it unfolds to ensure we are doing everything we can to keep our people and passengers safe.
