April 2018 performance results

Thursday 10 May 2018

Yarra Trams delivered 99.1 per cent of services in April with 83.9 per cent of services arriving on time. Monthly reliability is the best April reliability since 2013.

Trams share the city's roads and traffic congestion is a leading factor affecting tram performance. This is why we continue to work closely with our on-road partners including VicRoads to find ways to make journey times more reliable.

This month, Yarra Trams continuously engaged with major works Authorities to anticipate and mitigate impacts and supported the delivery of major events and occupations. This included St Kilda Rd Works as part of Metro Tunnel Project, Hurstbridge Line metro closure as part of Level Crossing Removal Project, and Hoddle Street reduced capacity as part of Streamlining Hoddle Street Project.

During these major disruptions, Yarra Trams manages the network in real-time to adjust to the road conditions and help people to safely get where they want to go. Yarra Trams also successfully delivered 400 additional services on ANZAC Day.

We are continuing our readiness activities for the challenging weather conditions generally observed in autumn and we are finalising preparation for our new timetable implementation on 20th May 2018. Keep an eye out for minor changes to your usual journey times.
