Route 19 - Network upgrade work - Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 April
Saturday 21 April to Sunday 22 April 2018
Update - Major work postponed
Major work scheduled to take place Saturday 21 April to Monday 23 April will not go ahead as planned. Service changes have been reduced but will still apply while minor work is being undertaken by Metro Trains Melbourne on Royal Parade.
Updated date and time
12.30am Saturday 21 April to 7.00am Sunday 22 April.
Reason for service changes
As part of the modernisation of Melbourne's tram network, we're building a new accessible platform stop at Stop 19 Brunswick Rd.
- Buses are replacing Route 19 trams between Queen Victoria Market and Brunswick Tram Depot, diverting around the work zone.
- Buses will stop at temporary stops or existing kerbside tram stops on the route.
- Extra trams are operating on Route 59 between the City and Flemington Road during peak times to service the hospital precinct.
- Linear map of tram and replacement bus services
Tram replacement buses are accessible depending on availability. Customer Service Employees are available for passengers requiring assistance with their journey.
Alternative travel options
Passengers may wish to consider trains on the Upfield line between Flinders Street Station and North Coburg as an alternative.
During this time, trams and replacement buses will operate to the normal frequency, however they may not arrive at the scheduled time due to traffic congestion. We recommend you allow extra time for your journey.
