St Kilda light rail renewal works
Monday 28 September to Sunday 4 October 2020
Date and time
First tram Monday 28 September to last tram Saturday 3 October
Reason for service changes
We’re renewing the power infrastructure along St Kilda light rail.
Route 96 trams run a shortened service, with buses replacing trams between Stop 125 Clarendon Street Junctions and Stop 138 Luna Park.
Tram replacement buses will travel along Ferrars Street, Canterbury Road and Fitzroy Street, stopping at temporary bus stops located near the existing tram stops.
Tram stop changes
The following tram stops will be closed and will not be serviced by replacement buses:
- Stop 126 City Road (towards St Kilda Beach)
- Stop 139 Acland Street
- Tram services run to a reduced frequency due to Stage 4 restrictions. All Night Network services, which run after midnight on Friday and Saturday nights, are also suspended. Visit this page for more information and latest advice.
Tram replacement buses are low-floor depending on availability. If you need assistance, speak to our customer service team or alert your driver.
Alternative travel options
Consider Route 3a (weekend only), 12 or 16 trams between the city and St Kilda.
We encourage you to plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
