Royal Park renewal works
Sunday 1 November to Tuesday 1 December 2020
Date and time
Stage 1 – Sunday 1 November to Thursday 5 November, 9pm to last tram each night
Stage 2 – Saturday 14 November to Tuesday 1 December, first to last tram
Reason for service changes
We’re renewing tracks and overhead wires in Royal Park between Poplar Road and Flemington Road. Elliott Avenue will experience both slow lane and full closures during the works.
For more information about local area impacts visit our project page.
Buses replace Route 58 trams between Stop 19 Royal Children’s Hospital and West Coburg, diverting around Royal Park. Tram service changes apply during both stages. Stage 1 is night works only.
Tram replacement buses service temporary stops on Poplar Road, as well as existing kerbside tram stops along Grantham Street, Dawson Street and Melville Road.

The following tram stops are not being serviced by replacement buses:
- Stop 23 Royal Park
- Stop 24 Elliott Ave and Royal Park

Alternative travel options

If possible, avoid the area and consider alternative travel options for the duration of the works.
