July 2017 performance results

Friday 11 August 2017

Yarra Trams delivered 98.69 per cent of services in June with 83.88 per cent of services arriving on time. These results are consistent with those from June, with service delivery 0.04 per cent higher and punctuality 0.06 per cent lower in July.

Trams share the city's roads and traffic congestion is the leading factor affecting tram performance, which is why we continue to work closely with our on-road partners including VicRoads to find ways to make journey times more reliable.

Yarra Trams manages the network in real-time to adjust to the road conditions and help people to safely get to where they want to go.

Additional services were operated in July for a number of special events including 20 AFL matches at the MCG and Etihad Stadium, Disney on Ice at Hisense Arena, 3 concerts at Margaret Court Arena and rugby league and rugby union matches at AAMI Park.

During July Yarra Trams built new tram infrastructure on Toorak Road West and St Kilda Road to prepare for Metro Tunnel works in the Domain precinct, South Yarra. The new tram infrastructure allows Route 58 to travel further down St Kilda Road, turning left at Toorak Road instead of Domain Road. Trams also delivered tram track renewals at the junction of St Georges Road and Miller Street in Preston. Both sets of work were completed on time.
