Yarra Trams delivered 98.48 per cent of services in August with 82.89 per cent of services arriving on time. These results are consistent with those from August 2016, with service delivery 0.33 per cent lower and punctuality 0.43 per cent lower.

Trams share the city's roads and traffic congestion is the leading factor affecting tram performance, which is why we continue to work closely with our on-road partners including VicRoads to find ways to make journey times more reliable.

Yarra Trams manages the network in real-time to adjust to the road conditions and help people to safely get to where they want to go.

Additional services were operated in August for a number of special events including 11 AFL matches at the MCG and Etihad Stadium, various expos and concerts, large open days at ACU, RMIT, Monash, University of Melbourne and Rugby League & Union matches at AAMI Park.

In August, Yarra Trams successfully delivered works on Lygon Street, as part of our Power Supply Upgrade Project to accommodate more new larger trams and increase network capacity. We also delivered improvement works in the Southbank Depot area, including the redesign of accessible Stop 125A on Route 109, in the Fisherman's Bend area. Finally, post occupation works are ongoing almost every night in the Toorak Rd West area (Domain Precinct) to finalise full delivery scope, in preparation for MMRA works; these works have no impacts on tram services.
