Tram passengers get to meet local managers
Thursday 5 March 2015
Tram passengers now have the chance to speak directly to the team running their local tram line, as part of Yarra Trams' Meet the Managers sessions.
Line managers and their teams will be at key stops in their local communities to answer any passenger questions about their specific lines.
Overall customer satisfaction with trams was 74.3 per cent in 2014, and this rating has been increasing steadily for the past four years.
Yarra Trams CEO Clément Michel said this is a great opportunity for tram passengers to improve their travelling experience.
"There's nothing better than being able to voice your comments face-to-face, especially with the team who have direct influence over your local tram lines," said Mr Michel.
"We are 100 per cent committed to improving the travel experience of our passengers, so it's important to know what is working well and areas where our customers feel we can improve.
"Yarra Trams and Public Transport Victoria receive customer feedback via the call centre, website and Twitter, but we have found in the past that addressing issues in person is extremely effective.
"We also firmly believe that network-wide issues are often less of a concern than localised issues, which is why we have changed the format of these events."
The first sessions for 2015 will take place in March, with further sessions planned later in the year for each of Yarra Trams' eight depots.
The sessions will go for approximately two hours during the morning or afternoon peak.
Yarra Trams has successfully run Meet the Managers over the last four years giving passengers the opportunity to ask questions of managers from across the business.
