More trams for Docklands

More than 1200 extra tram services will operate through the growing Docklands area every week from Sunday 26 January.

From Australia Day, trams on Route 75 will run to Harbour Esplanade, Docklands via Flinders Street. Combined with existing Route 70 services this will provide a five-minute frequency in peak times.

Route 86, 96, 109 and 112 trams will continue to operate along Spencer Street.

Passengers who travel to Victoria Harbour will also see an increase in tram services, with 26 additional weekday trams on Route 11. Along with Route 48 trams this will provide a four-minute frequency to Docklands via Collins Street during peak times.

From 26 January a 450 metre track extension along Victoria Harbour will be opened, along with a new terminus. Trams will continue to service the existing terminus at Merchant Street.

The Docklands precinct is currently home to around 7000 residents and 29,000 workers. It's expected to cater for 20,000 residents and 60,000 works by 2025.

As part of the network change, timetables for routes 11, 24, 31, 48, 95, 109 and 112 will be updated from the 26th. Passengers should check their timetable before travelling.
