Heading to the Australian Open this year? Extra Route 70a tennis trams are operating between Flinders Street West and Hisense Arena.

Extra services for the Australian Open

Extra trams will be provided for the Australian Open at Melbourne Park from Monday 15 January to Sunday 28 January. Travel is free on Route 70 & 70a trams for Australian Open ticket holders. 

  • Extra Route 70a tennis trams are operating between Flinders Street West and Hisense Arena. Trams will operate approximately every 5 minutes at busy times, and until one hour after the end of play each night.
  • Route 70a accessible trams will operate approximately every 10 minutes.
  • Route 70 trams are operating as normal, servicing all stops between Wattle Park and Docklands.
  • City Circle trams will begin operation from 12pm each day during the Australian Open.

Passengers walking to the Australian Open can utilise the Tanderrum Bridge.

Please ask our Customer Service staff if you need more assistance with your journey or to find out when the next low-floor tram is due at your stop.
