Tram improvement work - St Georges Rd & Miller St - Saturday 29 to Monday 31 July

Service changes will apply on Route 11 from Saturday 29 to Monday 31 July, due to tram track renewal on St Georges Rd and Miller St in Preston.

Service changes

Route 11 will operate as Route 11a with buses replacing trams between Stop 22 Scotchmer St and West Preston. Buses will divert around the work zone and stop changes will apply.

Stop 12 St Vincent's Plaza (travelling towards West Preston) will be the last accessible stop. Passengers with accessibility needs should talk to our customer service staff for assistance. 

Buses will be low-floor depending on availability. 

Tram stop changes

  • Stop 22 to 25: buses will service existing kerbside tram stops.
  • Stop 26 to 33: buses will use temporary stops near the footpath.
  • Stop 34 New Preston Depot: walk to Stop 33 Hutton St (350m / 4 min).
  • Stop 35 St Georges Rd (to Victoria Harbour Docklands only): walk to Stop 36 Devon St (500m / 5 min).
  • Stop 35 to 45: buses will service existing kerbside tram stops.
  • Stop 47 Regent St: walk to Stop 45 Jacka St (450m / 6 min).

On Sunday 30 July from first tram to 7:45am, Route 11 will also operate with no trams between Stop D15 Batman's Hill and Victoria Harbour Docklands, due to a public event in the CBD and Docklands.

Alternative travel options

For an uninterupted journey, passengers may wish to consider normal bus routes 250, 251 or trains along the South Morang line.

During the work, trams & replacement buses will operate to the normal frequency, however they may not arrive at the scheduled time. We suggest you allow extra time for your journey.
