As part of the modernisation of Melbourne's tram network, Yarra
Trams and Public Transport Victoria will be performing some civil
works at the Burke Road Terminus in Deepdene (Stop 70 Cotham
Works will commence on Wednesday 2 November and conclude on
Friday 4 November 2016. Works will occur during the day.
What is planned?
To ensure Yarra Trams is able to maintain a safe and
reliable tram network, minor civil works are required at the Burke
Road Tram Terminus.
This will include the installation of a secure barrier planter box
at the end of the terminus and other minor works.
Residents living on Burke Road adjacent to the work zone may
experience some delays when entering or exiting driveways.
Residents are advised to take caution when entering or exiting
driveways due to machinery in the area. Please see a traffic
controller if you have questions regarding entering or exiting your
Stop 70, Cotham Road, will remain open for
passengers to board and alight during these works. There will be no
changes to Route 72 services.
Some lane closures will be in place from Wednesday 2 November
until Friday 4 November 2016 between Cotham Road and Deepdene Place
(around the terminus). Traffic controllers and motorist signage
will be in place to guide motorists around the work zone..
The works will take place within the tram reserve at
the terminus. The work zone will be cordoned off for safety but
footpaths will remain open to allow for normal pedestrian

obligations to Public Transport Victoria and is necessary to
maintain a safe tram network as required by the Rail Safety Act
Accordingly Yarra Trams will not be compensating third parties
for any losses incurred during the conduct of the work.
