February 2015 performance results

6 March, 2015

Yarra Trams ran 78.99 per cent of services on time in February 2015, with a service delivery of 98.77 per cent.

February 2015 was a challenging month for tram performance due to a high number of special events, major tram improvement projects, traffic congestion and third party incidents.

Major infrastructure upgrades included:

  • building a new level access stop on Elgin St, Carlton
  • tram power upgrade work on St Georges Rd, Thornbury
  • track renewal on Toorak Road, Toorak.

These projects caused a total of two weeks disruption to trams on the busy Swanston Street and St Kilda Road corridor, as well on Collins Street.

Significant special events included:

  • Pride March
  • St Kilda Festival
  • ICC World Cup
  • White Night.

Yarra Trams and PTV are committed to continually improving tram performance to offer a world class service to our passengers.
