October performance results

7 November, 2014

Yarra Trams has recorded a solid performance result for October, despite a number of challenges including extreme weather conditions, third party incidents and traffic congestion caused by major special events.

Service delivery and punctuality across most lines improved compared to the same time last year, with Malvern lines (5, 6, 8, 16 & 72) achieving their strongest results in five years.

October also saw the introduction of the 10th E-Class tram onto Route 96, further increasing capacity and benefits for customers across the network thanks to the cascade of our existing low-floor trams to other routes.

Work is well underway to prepare for summer, with the aim of making our services more resilient and reliable when extreme weather conditions occur.

Tram improvement work continued around the network to provide safer, more comfortable services with greater efficiency across all lines.

Network service delivery for the month was 99.24% and punctuality 84.10%.
