Lost or found something on a tram?

It is helpful if you know the tram number and time you lost or found the item. Alternatively you will need to provide us with the tram route, direction, time and location. Lost property is held at our tram depots for three months.

Lost items 

Contact the depot

  • We recommend you contact the depot directly and leave a message 
  • Please include the tram number and time (or route, direction, time and location), a detailed description of the item, and your phone number 
  • Please note, the depot will only call you if the item is found
  • If you do not receive a call from the depot within 48 hours, unfortunately we have not been able to locate your lost item

Tweet us

  • If you have left a valuable item (wallet, passport, handbag or phone) on a tram within the past 30 minutes, we can try to locate the item by contacting the driver
  • Tweet @yarratrams on Twitter with a description of the lost item and the tram number
  • If the item was lost more than 30 minutes ago, please contact the depot directly

Lost property is held securely at tram depots it can generally only be collected during office hours. We can provide contact details for the relevant depot, but we cannot guarantee that property will be available outside of office hours or on weekends.

  • Please hand in lost property to the nearest police station
