  • air-conditioning enhanced for Melbourne's summer conditions
  • internal and external CCTV cameras 
  • increased grab rails and stop request buttons in ergonomically chosen locations 
  • rear LED displays warning car drivers that the tram is stopping
  • illumination in doorways for improved safety when boarding or alighting the tram 
  • emergency intercoms at each doorway
  • improved ride comfort and reduces noise with articulated bogies
